More About This

This might just interest you. I present to you a club/restaurant that has a split personality! Interested!? Basically, The Double Club has three rooms, and two personalities. One side is a restaurant, in the middle you have a bar, and on the other side is where you shake yo’ booty. Sounds pretty simple so far, a little bit different than most clubs, but still pretty dealwithable. It won’t take you long however to notice that The Double Club is where the western world meets the Congo! In every room is a split between the Congo and the Western lifestyle.

Visibly split, the whole place is actually quite beautiful. Built in an old Victorian warehouse in EC1, the project was designed to generate “an inspiring perspective on double identity as well as on cultural coexistence”. Point made. You can order food from either culture, listen to music from both and see the aesthetically pleasing venue just down the road from Angel tube station. Friday nights is our night of recommendation simply because it’s when the stylish crowd turns out, attracted by recent DJ’s such as Jefferson Hack, Gareth Pugh and Busy P. But if you’re really up for a night that is unlike anything you’re likely to come across anywhere, check out Saturday’s, when the Congolese music is unleashed. Both nights last from 10pm till 4am, but the courtyard bar is open from 7pm and is generally a big hit. Did we mention it’s free to get in? Now we have!
