That's right. Illegal fraudsters (or genius's : ) have released Eminem's Relapse album on the Internet two weeks before it was supposed to go on sale. First verdict: Not 'alf bad!
You'll quickly work out...dude's got issues. We all knew that before but...dudes got issues. It would appear the whole exhaustion/pneumonia thing was a bunch of "baloney" (his words) and in fact he had a drug problem (particularly Vicodin so we hear). The album is pretty exposed, with Em leaving none of his darkest thoughts behind. "Beautiful" is easily one of the best songs on the album. "Deja Vu" is another one that takes you back to Eminem of old.
We all know his got ridiculous talent, Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers LP prove that and so does some of the songs on Relapse. Ok his last couple albums haven't gone down so hot (partly cause they were crap), and that stupid commercial sound he keeps doing does make you feel like your ears are being beaten to death by a chipmunk who hit puberty. Fortunately Eminem chats some funny shit when he's in that "persona" so 2-3 songs of it would have been great. 5-6 is however pushing it.
Maybe...just maybe this one rates as third best in the Eminem collection though. Eminem does however still have some way to go to hit the heights of his obvious two best successes. Maybe Relapse part two, which is out very soon, might complete the comeback.
