Welcome to the new era of music streaming. Seriously. Spotify.com is a downloadable program you can stick on your pc/mac and listen to "nearly" every licensed bit of music in the world. It is actually crazy good, and if you have read this far, it should be about 53% downloaded by now.
It is being touted as "The iTunes Killer" because you don't have to do anything but search for the music you want to listen to and then add it to your chosen playlist. You can add complete albums or individual songs from all of your favourite musicians. The one down side we've found is that some, erm, "unreleased" songs haven't quite made it on there. But as far as music streaming goes, which this does instantly, without any need to buffer, this is pretty much unbeatable.
They provide a few different offers. The free one, which we opted for, that includes ads somewhere on the program when your searching and listening to music or other monthly and yearly offers where you get no ads. In all honesty, the ads make no difference, and unless you sit there with the program open while you listen to entire playlists whilst staring intently at the screen, you really don't need to pay anyone anything.
Aren't you glad you looked on yngldn.co.uk today!
Update: They do have audio ads that come on between songs even now and again, selling something from Play.com or whatever.. Still better than watching MTV or listening to the radio!
